Sunday Recap 6-14-15

Its Sunday! And that means its time for a quick recap of the week.

I hit a massive depression for the past couple weeks. I’m sorry, dear fans, but gathering the will to get out of bed was hard as it is. It happens, and I’m actually forgiving myself for it. Well, not really, because there is nothing to forgive. I have bipolar, I have periods that are up and some that are down. It happens. *grins*
That being said, I’m slowly building myself back up. Its taking work. A great deal of work. But I’m determined to own my bipolar. I will, somehow, find a way to kick this shit in the ass. I’ve taken a writing/editing class, and am doing a mentoring class. It is my hope that these will help me out in both my writing and my life. Time will tell, but I’m feeling better today!
I did get two blogs posted this week. Find them below:

Wednesday Review: http://ow.ly/NZSua
Q&A Saturday: http://ow.ly/OgQS6

I have a short story sitting with a friend right now. She’s going to look it over and help me tighten it up. I’m hoping that I can find a home for it. If I don’t, look for it to be self-pubbed by the holidays.

That’s all for today!

Love and light to all,
Kat

Sunday Recap 5-24-15

Wow, what a week! This week we had all but Wednesday having posts. Monday we had a selection from my song list, Tuesday I had a special guest visit the blog, Thursday we had a bit of Inspirational Art, Friday had the features, and Saturday I answered someone’s burning question. Did you get all that? Good.

What happened behind the scenes, though kept me super busy! Can you believe I have chapter one done in Earth's Light? Yuppers, that's the honest truth. I have started the process of rewriting book one, so expect to hear more on that front soon!

This past week I've also been attending a class that covers editing. I've learned a great deal about using stronger verbs and more description in settings. I've also found that it is a horrid habit of mine to use certain words more than others. No worries, I've been plugging those words into my Scrivener and every time I use them they pop up yellow. Its been a great help!

I've also started a Street Team on Facebook for all my closest friends and supporters. It is in this group that I will look for beta readers once I'm done writing Earth's Light. Remember, folks, Earth's Thorn, book 2, is already finished and waiting only for me to edit it.

I'm fairly certain that November will see me participating in NaNoWriMo again, this time with Rose and Amir's story. Not sure on the title, but I'm leaning towards Earth's Passion.

That's all for now. I can't wait to give all of you more information on book one. (Or this super short story that I've written!) I'll update you all more next week, so until then, bu-bye!

Sunday Recap 5-17-15

This has been the busiest week I’ve had in a good long while on here! I’ve introduced many new series I’m doing on here, including the first Inspirational Music Monday, Takeover Tuesday, and Inspirational Art Thursday. Then I gave you a glimpse of fabulousness on Features Friday, and answered someone’s burning question on Q&A Saturday. Did you catch all that?

I’ve been busy trying to get this blog set up for a while so I can take a back seat and write. Don’t worry, it’ll happen soon! It has been rough with my daughter, trying to get her set for success in life. (Wow, that sounds more complicated than I mean, oh well.) I'm also working on trying to find a way to share out what I have done with her so that maybe someone else will benefit from our struggles. I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on her blog.

I was handed something on Friday: My current therapist is leaving to live in California. I'm going to miss her, but she's making sure she leaves me well set up on my Coping Book. That helps, a great deal, especially since my new doctor won't be working on the same things. I'll be sharing my coping book on my mental health blog so that others may benefit. (Its something I think everyone should have, whether or not they have been diagnosed with a mental disorder.)

I was also honored on Friday, with the publication of not one, but two interviews on Author Kelly Blanchard's blog! I'm incredibly honored, to say the least. Check out her spin on interviews by reading first my author interview, and then the interview with Raven himself. They're quite entertaining, from what I've been told!

Have you heard? I'm doing a author blogger takeover on the 26th at 8pmEST and 27th at 11pmEST! I'm super excited to hang out with all my fans and meet some new ones. I'm working on making the one short hour (each day) as fun as possible, and plan on having prizes. (If anyone wants to donate a prize, I'll be SO grateful!) Make sure to be there! You won't want to miss it. Oh, and did I mention this is my first time doing an event? Help me pop that cherry!

Well, that is all for this week. Stick with me, next week will bring more fun to be had!

Sunday Recap 5-10-15

Every Sunday I do a recap of the week I finished. Since this is my writing blog, I’ll stay off of most of my mental helath/physical health issues and stick to business.

Blogs:

I was able to get 2 blogs posted this week, though I do now have a decent amount of blogs scheduled to post for a bit in the future. I plan on continuing this until I can get a good few months scheduled in. Why? Because I have depressed periods of time and having things checked off my list makes me feel better when I need to take “Me time”. Those who know the person behind the author-colored-glasses know that I rarely do the whole “Me time” thing, so they understand how big of a deal this is. Trust me, I hate taking “Me time”.

Anywho, I did have two blogs go live this week:

If you wish a spot on my Friday’s Features, you can sneak in via the Application, my Facebook Author page, or by knowing the real me and hitting my personal Facebook page. If you have a question you’d like to ask me, comment below or find me in one of those other places. I can, and do, allow anonymous questions.

What else have I done this week? Actually, as far as writing, I haven't done much. Blogging has been getting the attention, and that's okay. I've been steadily writing material for all of you, and have been setting it all up to be published. This is a good thing, even if it may not seem so. Have faith that Nadia and Richard will have their story retold, soon.

That's all for now. Love and light to you all,
~Kat

Sunday Recap 5-3-2015

I am going to try to do a recap every Sunday covering everything that happened the previous week. I won't be perfect, I'm sure, but the point here is to try.

This past week has been rather tame, to be honest. I've been depressed, dragging ass and unable to do more than take care of my little Princess Kitten. Which sucks, really, because I have so much I want to do. Fortunately for me, I have friends who are there to kick me around. I just have to remember (and force myself) to ask for help.

That is where the problem is, I believe. Asking anyone for help is paramount to admitting I suck. I'll admit it, I tell myself that I do indeed suck way more than I should. Positive thinking has already been proven to not work for me. I can't quiet the negativity in my mind. Unfortunately, it reflects in my writing, or lack of writing.

In true rapid cycling bipolar fashion, though, I found myself surfing a high today. Oh what I have gotten done! I have plans for this blog, but you may not see the results of all this work for a few months. Why? Because I want to get a few months of work done before I start posting it, that way I can be ahead of myself for when I have down days.

Keeping this in mind, I have things I need from you, my dearest readers. I have three blogs at this time, and will have a fourth soon-ish. In case you are knew to my flavor of (in)sanity, let me recap those blogs.

Nightmares and Chocolate is the blog you are currently reading. This is my literary blog and covers everything related to writing and my voyage to becoming published. This includes the occasional (in)sane posts about metal health in its relation to character development and writer coping methods.

Through Twisted Darkness is my mental health blog. Plain and simple, I cover all things mental. This is where I go to release my inner demons on the world, as well as communicate my path through therapy. It is my hope that this blog helps others to seek help and to be more open in their lives as they struggle with their own demons. My life is an open book here, and I make no apologies for my own thoughts and opinions.

Magical Adventures of Princess Kitten is my daughter's blog. I cover her journey through life and the struggles we have while coping with her HFA and ADHD. I cover topics relating to parenting, autism, ADHD, and even the magical imaginings of my daughter. This is her blog, though I am the caretaker of it. I hate trolls, but I'm even more strict on this site since it is hers.

Any Witchy Way will be coming soon. This will be a blog dedicated to witches by witches. I plan on having it written by as many people as I can. I want this blog to become a safe haven to all paths under the Pagan umbrella. I seek to educate and inform one and all about Paganism and its many forms, beliefs, and practices.

Why give all this information out? Because I need your help! Every Tuesday I will be allowing someone to take over my blogs. No, not all at once, I'm not looking for anyone THAT specific. What I need are authors to take over one or more of my blogs. I need those who want to do these takeovers to fully understand the theme behind each one, and then be free to write whatever they please within those parameters. This is a way for authors from all genres and walks of life to reach out to another audience and to get free publicity.

I'm also looking for random posts from anyone who may have something to say, but don't currently have anything to publicize. This includes random people who are dealing with mental illness or those who are relatives of someone dealing with a disability of any sort. I'm not wanting these stories to make money, I am wanting these stories to show all those who have issues to know they are not alone. I want both happy and sad stories. (I'll kiss the boots of someone who can write a post about addiction or drunk driving too!)

Finally, I am looking for questions from all of your for each of these pages. Each Saturday I will be answering your questions either as a blog or a vlog. (I need to find a way to set up my camera for a vlog, until then it'll be blog only for me, and vlog for Princess Kitten.)

So, help me please? Share out this post so I can get the word out to as many people as possible. Not just on your fan pages, but personal pages as well. If you can help with questions, post them below. Be sure to tell me which blog you are asking for, otherwise you'll get the answer here. If you want to ask/respond anonymously, contact me on my Facebook page and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Love and light to you all,
K Perrin
