Review: Darkness into Dawn (The Unraveled Trilogy Book 2) - Theresa Sederholt

I feel bad for any fan of Sederholt who had to wait for this book to come out. I must say, in that respect, I lucked out. This sequel to The Unraveling of Raven was already out when I stumbled into the series. If you haven’t read the first book, this book will not make complete sense to you. I suggest you go and grab The Unraveling of Raven before reading this one. Trust me, its worth it!

Do not continue reading if you have not read The Unraveling of Raven.

Again, Sederholt has impressed me with her ability to use trigger topics to her advantage, as well as drop names of organizations that really need the publicity. Thank you, Theresa Sederholt, for doing this.

Raven, Jackie, Jax, Max and the gang are back. Unfortunately, it becomes clear early in that this isn’t going to be a fun ride. The book opens on the cliff hanger from the previous novel, and takes you through the weave Sederholt so competently creates throughout the text.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried in places, and cheered in others. Sederholt invests her readers into the novel, then rips emotions from them as they continue to battle with mysterious pasts and twisted perceptions.

Again, just as you think everything is tied up in a neat bow, Sederholt rips the package apart and shows a little more of the fabric she has woven.

Fast paced, exciting, and completely mystifying, Sederholt has made book two in the Unraveled series better than the first. If you love a good mystery, action, or contemporary romance, you’ll love Darkness into Dawn. Five stars from me.

Blogger note:

Sederholt continues to cover tricky topics such as mental health, veterans, kidnapping and rape with utmost respect. I applaud her use of these topics in a way that makes the topics natural to the plot, yet also makes them stand out to those who have been or are affected and creates a feeling of not being alone.
