Review: The Bleeding - Max E. Stone

I will start by saying that this is not normally a genre I find interest in. However, the author indeed did grab my interest and held it throughout this fast paced story.

The opening confused me, simply because I was not familiar with this author’s way of introducing characters. However, once I puzzled out who everyone was, I was able to follow along, and soon became entranced by the mystery at hand.

This story follows the lives of a family ripped to shreds from horrific crimes committed against them. The author weaves a story from a few broken threads, eventually revealing how they all tie together, then leaves you wondering why you didn’t see the answers. Then you realize that you were asking all the wrong questions.

I give this four out of five stars. The author knows the craft well, and uses that knowledge to hook the reader. I recommend this to anyone into mysteries, crime, or action fiction genres; though I strongly suggest all grab a copy. A must read!

Blogger’s note:

Max E. Stone is a new author for me, and has instantly gained my respect and admiration. I could easily compare him to many in his genre working for the big publishing houses. Unfortunately, names elude me, so perhaps my readers may help with the comparison?

I also seem to have come into this in the middle of the series. This will soon be fixed!
